A little update for all two of you

Lame photo dump

I got a new massive yellow lamp and a pretty new wool blanket.  Paid too much for both but I don't care, they are both really fucking cool.

New cushion covers thanks to my gorgeous Mama!

Kira came to visit me for my birthday and stayed for two weeks.  We did all the girly stuff that I never get to do because I'm always hanging out with three lame dudes.  I love her so much!

New coffee table!

Bought this 1960's boomerang table at the Paddington Antique Centre the other day and it looks so much better than the ugly ikea table we had there before.  It's a bit weird but hey, that's character.  We are currently in the process of sanding the black legs down, and I'm not sure if I should leave them natural wood or paint the legs yellow.  Anyone?

New things

A much needed addition to my daily attire, a watch.  And not any watch, a unique, custom made, circa 1920's jumping hour window watch that Fil hand-picked for me.  It is so gorgeous and this crappy instagram picture does it no justice whatsoever.

A bright yellow throw/blanket/table cloth that I got at an antique store for 15 dollars.  It's beautiful and I love it.

Learning to make espresso with milk.

New pottery and vases.  I passed up that burl wood vase at the antique store next to Fil and Dee's house and then went back a week later to buy it.  That blue thing is made in Denmark apparently.  It looks pretty cute next to my blue and yellow bed.

What a horribly unpleasant evening.  The kitchen sink pipe burst leaving the kitchen and entryway flooded.  We had a massive fight that is still going strong and we had to cancel our dinner reservation at a nice restaurant (Thursday is supposed to be our date night).  And now there is a leak in my bedroom ceiling, and of course it's pouring outside.  I guess I just wanted to externalise how shitty I feel.

Bed

This is my bed.  I've been wanting to take a good picture of my bedroom for ages but it's so small and very difficult to photograph.  This was taken standing on my desk backed up against the opposite wall, and I still couldn't fit everything in.  I got the antique Turkish rug in Teneriffe (my dream suburb) because it had such beautiful colours and a kind of crappy handmade character.

As you can see, I love blue and red.  I wish I could paint the bricks black or white, but this is a rental.

I'm very bad

I love and hate instagram because it's so fast and easy to go from camera to internet.  So, I'm deeply sorry for the crappy quality of these pictures.  But I got a new bedspread and we rearranged our room and I got new weird vases and it's so much nicer now.  That's all.

Roadtrip to Newcastle
